Hawaii 2019

These photos are from Jessie's and my honeymoon vacation in July of 2019. We went to the islands of Kaua'i and Hawai'i, and had a great time exploring both islands.

Chickens could be seen (and heard) throughout the entire island. Jessie found them to be very amusing.

Kilauea lighthouse was just off the highway on a rocky little peninsula. Lots of seafaring birds could be seen nesting in the rocks.

These red-crested cardinals could be seen in abundance in both Hawai'i and Kaua'i

View during the descent of Kukui Trail

Kukui trail terminates at the floor of Waimea Canyon in the Wailua River after a steep 2,000 foot descent.

A scenic overlook on Waimea Canyon drive. The canyon is often called "The Grand Canyon of Hawaii"

On our last night in Kaua'i, Jessie and I donned our matching Hawai'ian shirts and went to a Lu'au on the beach

We stopped at a small beach that had a rope swing on it, and was a great spot for snorkling.

We spent 3 days in Hawai'i, which unfortunately was very rainy. However, we were only 10 minutes from Volcano National Park, and we were able to access it quickly during breaks in the rain.

We saw Nene, the state bird of Hawai'i, all over the park. They're basically just Canada Geese with different coloration.

This sea arch was at the very end of the road. The sea was very rough due to a hurricane just off the coast.
